The US is often dubbed the ‘fattest country on Earth’ due to the fact 40 percent of adults have a body mass index of 30 or higher. But the sheer size of China’s population means there are actually 200million obese people there compared to America’s 139million. A further 400million are overweight in China, compared to the US’ 103million residents who are overweight. The result of the obesity epidemic in both countries has led to a multi-billion weight-loss industry, which recently has come to include the blockbuster weight-loss drug Ozempic.
