The upcoming 25th Pharmaceutical Analysts’ Convention (PAC) 2026, organized by the Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association (IDMA), will take place in Mumbai over two days: November 4 and 5. The gathering will assemble high-ranking regulatory authorities, executives from the pharmaceutical sector, specialists in pharmacopoeial standards, and academic researchers to explore breakthroughs in technology, quality assurance frameworks, and manufacturing innovations within the pharmaceutical field.

Under the theme “Transforming Quality. Inspiring Innovation”, the event aligns with IDMA’s 125-year legacy of advancing pharmaceutical standards. Its primary objective is to enhance the contributions of pharmaceutical analysts while equipping India’s pharmaceutical sector to meet shifting global regulatory demands and technological advancements.

Notable Speakers and Guests

Professor Dr Jyeshtharaj Bhalchandra Joshi, a Padma Bhushan recipient and Chancellor of the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) in Mumbai, will serve as the chief guest and deliver the keynote address. His involvement will contribute a scholarly and scientific viewpoint to conversations about technological progress in pharmaceutical production and its impact on quality assurance.

Dr Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi, serving as the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) at the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), will also attend as a guest of honor. His participation shows the convention’s focus on regulatory updates, compliance standards, and the necessity for manufacturers to adapt their quality systems to new governmental expectations.

Key Discussion Topics

The convention will assess how scientific progress, technological advancements, and regulatory changes can be applied to enhance laboratory efficiency, manufacturing techniques, and overall product quality. A major emphasis will be placed on the integration of artificial intelligence and digital transformation within the pharmaceutical industry.

With pharmaceutical manufacturing increasingly adopting data-driven processes, automation and digital quality management, the deliberations are expected to examine the opportunities and challenges associated with integrating advanced technologies into existing production and analytical systems. The focus will also extend to incorporating new technologies in manufacturing and quality operations to improve efficiency, reliability and consistency.
